On my days in college this week I mainly planned, did
research and sketchbook work. I had discussions with the tutors and tried to
follow their feedback.
One good thing from Monday was deciding on a poster style I
like and could take forward, which is from the 1940s and 50s. My dad has some books on film posters so
I planned to look through them this week for ideas. I also looked at different
types of media I could use and experimented with these. I realised this would
be an area which would be decided on when actually doing final designs.
Most of this week I have spent on secondary research and
sketchbook work.
On Saturday and Sunday my dad and brother helped me with
some primary research using photography as a basis for observational drawings.
My brother and I posed as Arthur/Lancelot and Guinevere and my dad took some
photos.
My brother did a few poses as Merlin such as when on the TV
Series he holds his hand palm outward when using magic. I took these photos and will use them towards
my observational drawing. At the moment the ones of my brother and I will
probably be used for poster 2 or 3. The ones of my brother I took I will probably
use for poster 1 as all my initial ideas keep going back to Merlin as the main
character for this particular poster.
I also watched Merlin for ideas for further photography
images and made a plan of work which I
needed to keep up with such as my blog (I found this hard to keep up with as I
find it boring).
On Sunday I got up
to date with paperwork and planned for the following week.
