costings

Project Costings

As part of my brief it says on the list to keep a costing sheet.

I have kept receipts for main things I have bought for my posters such as the A1 watercolour card and gold-leaf and these were expensive.

I have bought items to experiment with for my tech file and ideas such as embroidery and map working.

I found that looking in charity shops can be a lot cheaper and you can probably find something a bit different rather than in craft shops. An example would be buckles I found on some handbags to use on my books.

Some things I have bought which I have not used such as the candle making kit (I saved £10) but some were expensive such as the silk painting kit. I bought this (or rather persuaded my parents to buy it) as I thought my last poster would be a silk painting.

However, after experimenting in college I found this would be too tricky and take too much time so I wish I would have waited.

I have also found out there are a lot of hidden costs with things which you use a lot of such as masking fluid and glue.

I have photocopied my receipts.
